Stormy Sea Shore

Hi I took this earlier in September, and thought it would make a great painting.

Re: Stormy Sea Shore

Had a go at the sea shore scene, thanks. After adjusting here and there I use Impressionist for a paint effect.

Re: Stormy Sea Shore

CathyH, I'm really starting to like your stuff a lot!

The birds added a lot to the composition.
The over feeling was smooth and positive.

Re: Stormy Sea Shore

Nice photo, Cathy, and I really like the softness of your painting and the addition of the sea gulls. John, nice job sneaking that Tall Ship in there. The HDR version works really well too.

I also went with the Impressionist filter for my play.

Cathy has a good eye for composition, enjoyed the look see.

Thanks for the nice comments on my rendition. As an after thought, I should have added a little text to the sign and used a ship with the sails down.

Re: Stormy Sea Shore

Cathy, this was a wonderful photo...and I became very frustrated at myself because it wouldn't do what I wanted it to do. I was aiming for something with a scrimshaw appearance, just didn't do too well at it.

Everyone managed to come up with some fantastic renditions. I salut you. Anyway, I used Flaming Pear's Kyoto Color, then India Ink.

P.S: Your work at Flickr was such a pleasure to look at.
