Does anyone know this action please?

My computer was broken for ages, and when it was repaired I had lost all my actions.

Here's an edit I did a while back. Does anyone know what this action is called, or even better, where I can possible find it again?

I really like it!

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

Hi amica, thanks for the feedback. I don't think it's the Topaz one, because it was a freebie. I also don't think it's the other one, because it was very straightforward to use. Many thanks for the input though ....

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

I would say the first step was a dupe layer set on soft light, opac. around 50%.
The second might have been a very strong USM, followed by Anisotropic (Filter > Stylize > Diffuse). Hopefully this will help you find the action again...
Good luck,
Sylvia
PS: You might want to check this site:
http://www.atncentral.com/image_enhance.htm
They have free actions and hopefully you'll be able to find yours there.

What do you think of using this one, "Dave's Simplifier version 2". I have it in my Photoshop CS4.

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

Palms' "Fake Smudge Action" comes pretty close.. especially if you were to use the noise removal filter prior to using the smudge filter, as Palms suggests (which I did not)

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

It does look like a combination of sharpening and aniso.
Topaz clean comes close.

I did this one using the settings as indicated on the other image. Is it close enough, don't know. Did it wholly in Photoshop.

Yours looks very close, I think. Good job!

Can't let go of this one for some reason. Here I mainly used Topaz Clean.

Thanks Sylvia. I see that I could have smoothed out some of the lines, but I got lazy at 8:00 PM.

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

Sylvia:

Found it fascinating to do your method. Discovered bits of photoshop I have never used before! I really liked the results, and will keep a note of your method for future reference.

Gunner:

I'm going to download the Dave's Simplifier Version 2. I used to have a simplifier action which I liked very much.

Loved your version with Topaz Clean.

Pavel:

Yes, the Topaz Clean effect is similar - though a quite bit more subtle. Very nice.

OlBaldy:

You've cracked it! I think Palms' action must have been the one I used. I will go and download it now. Thank you!

Many thanks to everyone for all your help. It was much appreciated!

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

It looks like the Anisotropic filter. Maybe sharpened with Topaz Vivacity.

I believe it was Phyllis (from Innographx) that first came with this kind of steps (the sharp USM followed by aniso).

I'm glad you finally got your action back, the result was really good on your son (what a cute boy!!).

Re: Does anyone know this action please?

Joe:

Both of those are alien to me, though I've heard several mentions of them in this thread...

Sylvia:

This little guy is not a rellie. He was just an edit I did for someone in the 'Fix My Pic' group at flickr. He's incredibly cute though, I agree....
