Re: Hybiscus

Jordan, this is lovely. The colors are perfect. Can I ask you how you applied your texture? Is is a separate layer or did you use texturizer?

I'd be lost without my wacom.
My computer is worse than a kid. It wants something new every week. Cameras, printers, programs, etc. Now it wants a wacom tablet. Well, like any good parent, I have to draw the line somewhere.

Re: Hybiscus

Peter-Okay, I'm looking at all your links, but I still haven't figured out how you get such definition, yet such a soft look. It can't all be smudging.

Re: Hybiscus

Lyle- It really does look like a glass flower. So you still use Gimp. What program do you use most?
John- If the hybiscus growers ever get hold of your color scheme, it'll sell a million.
Fran- I love the softness of your version. It's just begging to be printed.
Veronica- I think it's pretty and it's definitely got character.

I think the Hybiscus is probably one of the most photogenic flowers around
I agree with you. I probably take more pics of them than any other flower. Part of the mystique is that the bloom only lasts a day, so to extend its life, I take a photo.

Shary- thank you!
I actually do both. I do a copy merged, paste onto a new layer, and then run the texturizer filter. That way I can tweak it if I want to. I think I used one of Trimoon's textures.

My 5yo dd said she liked mine, then she saw Peter's and said she liked his better, then she saw Lyle's and said his was the BEST!
fickle, fickle!

Try some USM and boost the saturation a little
