Re: Fanny au lavoir

What a fascinating photo. Thanks for posting it. I played around with impressionist, pattern stamp, etc. Was not real happy with how her face came out, but...

You're welcome!
It's a bit too yellow otherwise it's good, Shari.
Nice one, Grant, and great crop!

Re: Fanny au lavoir

For my try I adjusted a bit and recolored the water. Finished up with Photosketcher using the watercolor setting.

Re: Fanny au lavoir

Fanny is so beautiful. What must she use the water for? Is it like a well? Or like a small stream? Interesting.

For Fanny, I used a faux HDR action, then did much adjusting for curves & levels.

Yes, she is a very pretty girl.
The place where I photographed her is where people used to come and wash their clothes. It's a community laundry of some kind, from before the time people had running water at home. Most of the villages and towns had those in the old days.
I wonder if my great grand-mother ever washed her clothes there when she was young as she was from that little town...

I very much like what you did on Fanny, Veralisa, it looks really good.

Very nice shot. Lots of nice BG texture to work with.

Here's one version.

Veralisa,
Here's a picture of the full laundrymat middle-age version
It's in the dark corner that I took Fanny's picture.

That's probably because you made her kneel down on a wet slab of concrete in her nice clean dress.

Maybe what she was feeling just showed up in my painting.

Thanks for the big picture, Sylvia, I will remember it the next time I groan at a full hamper of dirty clothes!
