Re: Medieval pictures

Wow Sylvia; what wonderful captures these are. This one's Dutch inspired (but no Dutch era by any stretch of the imagination). Was going to add a canvas, but kept it as is.

Re: Medieval pictures

Wow, I stayed off this website for a couple of hours and look what happened while I was gone. Great photos, Sylvia, and you are so good with the Impressionist filter. And Grant, I'm speechless. I notice everyone's been bugging you for tutorial DVDs so I'll just add my voice to theirs. Lyle, verrryyy nice. You could do a tutorial on GIMP too, ya know. Grant, love your style. You never disappoint. Palms, can't wait to see what you come up with.

Re: Medieval pictures

Fran; I'm self taught, so my outlines literally would be Greek to true retouch pros, especially since I would be talking GIMP to PS users. lol

I will say that I started out by enhancing the Dynamic Range using this gem. I used Xero's Supersmooth for the Aniso step too. Outlining the additional nuances (lots of little things including selective smudging and all) is just too much work for me.

Re: Medieval pictures

Can't leave these alone Sylvia so I had to have another go.

Thanks for the kind words Fran but I think you mean Peter when you mentioned the dvd tutorials.I think we'd all like to learn his method. His versions are sensational.

I threw everything at this one. I was trying for an old renaissance look but didn't quite get the look I wanted.

If I would be naming this one, I would call it the Posing Cavelier.

Re: Medieval pictures

You're right, Grant, I did mean Peter regarding the DVDs but you're not a slouch either. I could learn a bit from you too.

I never had a clear idea of where I wanted to go with this one so I don't know if I ever got there but I've got to go to work so I'm done with it for this morning.
