I use GML matting is a cutout tool to help separate object from background.
It is freeware plugin for Adobe Photoshop CS4

I add new sky then set Filter - Artistic - Poster Edges

Nice looking birds everyone.
On this one I used Palms-and Joe's- Fake Smudge action followed by a Dragonizer action.
No turkeys here.

Re: Bird of Prey

lovely work with this impressive bird by everyone.
Lyle, I really like that - only thing is the repetive pattern. Could this be taken care of?

Lynn, cool idea to "free" him

Veronica, nice one

The one below I did with Topaz Vivacity, smudged and tweaked and finally masked in a touch of fractalius

NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH!
GOLDEN EAGLE KILLS HUGE MOUNTAIN GOAT BY DROPPING IT OFF A CLIFF! Snatches another goat and flies away with it to its nest .. then drags another one over a cliff

Do NOT click the link if you do not want to see the cute lil goats die..

If it offends anyone please let me know and I will remove the clip!

Re: Bird of Prey

Baldy, those have to be pretty small goats. An eagle isn't a very big bird after all is said and done. The goat would weigh more than the eagle. Nevertheless, it is impressive footage. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Bird of Prey

Grant & Amica- both very well done
Topaz tempts me

I didn't even want to post this, but I spent too much time fussing with it.
Everything I did just made him look uglier instead of noble.
So I went colorful instead. I'm not sure it's much of an improvement.
