Thank you very much Lyle, you've been so helpful.
I didn't realise Impressionist had so many things that we could adjust, its amazing. I couldn't find that brush you chose , but there are heaps of others so i will do some experimenting.

Thanks Heaps Lyle

Re: Curiosity of Children

You will literally spend hours finding all kinds of things that Impressionist can do (I sure did; still occasionally do). God speed on your quest.

Re: Curiosity of Children

Thanks to everyone who has posted a version.

Lynn -- nice vibrant colors and I like your additon of the title to the image
Grant -- you got the softness I wanted in my version. I think I over Topazed (is that a word?) it at the start and I couldn't get back
Aartist - great title and your framing really sets off what you've done with the image
Lyle -- you're going to have to give me some tips on using DAP -- I can't get anything that looks anything like what you've done
Palms -- I never tire of your minimalist style -- it worked very well here
Jordan -- nice job with the AHB -- you're going to have to give some tips on that one too
John --bright and bold, very nice effect

Fran

Re: Curiosity of Children

Hey Fran; you can always check out the DAP forum (which I sometimes frequent; my handle there as everywhere else but here is lylejk). The biggest thing to understand is that DAP is more a tool then a do all (even my Skittles result needs some additional tlc). Traditional layer editing techniques will give you the result that you want (blending your original with DAP results where needed; that's the fun isn't it? lol). I've yet to reach nirvana (love that word) with just using filters, but that's my quest. I guess if I ever do succeed, then you all won't see much of me anymore ('cause by then, computers would have taken over the world; lol).

Re: Curiosity of Children

Love this photo!

My version used VP gotchi, everything set to subtle except focus. Then desaturated the result and bumped up the contrast.
