What a cool wintery scene Nancy. I see cabin fever in your future if you live here. lol

Anyway, thought of a Christmas Card like textured render for this one.

Nice one Palms.
And it does look like silver cardstock Lyle.

Thanks for the play Nancy.
My 4yo told me I should paint this one.
Just filters and masks today.

Just some subtle changes. tried to bring out the detail in another way.
Palms, I like the color you got out of your image.

PeterI-Very nice version indeed. Do you mind sharing what program/technique you used to make all those really cool crosshatch lines?

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

Nancy, I used AHB as a base with the Sprayed Strokes filter to create a consistant stroke and add detail. I made a sketch layer with Akvis plugin for the vertical lines and masked off most of it balance the image with the Sprayed strokes filter. a few adjustment layers for color. Hard to improve on an already great original image.

Nice winter images, thanks. Used Impressionist on the foreground and painted the sky.

LQQKER-That border is perfect for this picture

John - that is one of my favorite captures. You've managed to give it a great Van Gogh 'Cypresses' treatement. I haven't been able to do anything with it yet myself

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

Hi Nasturtium,
first of all I think you live in the most beautiful place on earth! Every photograph, snow and snowless, was really lovely.

I wove two images together...then it started to look like the visual illusion as in:
http://http://www.retouchpro.com/for...fect-blur.html

Okay, simplified, hue adjust, and then it started to remind me of something Asian, so, added my sig in red & gave texture. It was a great project tonight. Time to brush my teeth!

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

Veralisa, Those two went well together. For this one I just started simplifying and reducing until the pond was almost one tone and there was still some detail in the trees.

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

John, I think you were able to keep necessary detail while simplifying at the same time. Nice...I'll try something like that tomorrow. Thanks.

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

I keep adding more pictures to that gallery if anyone is looking for more 'fodder'. Or would it be better for me to start new threads? Here's a sled dog from our '07 trip to British Columbia and the other is a summer shot from the moated village. Sigh, will it ever get warm again? I'm having fun playing with 40 free Xero filters. I used the 'sky cleaner' and I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship. :-)

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

My take on the river scene. As a casual observation, that place must be loaded with fish.

John - sweet edit! I don't know if there's lots of fish but there certainly are lots of fishermen sitting on the banks throughout the year

Re: creative interpretations ~ snow!

Lynne,

nice blue snow.

You are limited to 100kb attachments. This can be achieved by 'save for web' in Photoshop.

When you become a patron your maximum attached file size is raised to 200kb.

HTH

Still on my Meander Mosaic binge. Thought I would repackage it a little for this Stained Glass interpretation.
