Re: Lets go racing

Wonderful photo and fun to work with. I like your emphasis on the single horse. Lyle, I don't think I've seen that watercolor style from you yet. I like it.

Re: Lets go racing

Thanks Fran. It's just a repackaged Xero Supersmooth (my a personal twist that's too involved for details; i.e., rendered at the seat of my pants and couldn't remember all the steps for the like of me; lol). I like your water-sketch too. Use a filter by chance, or was this AHB work?

Re: Lets go racing

Craig and Lyle, I started by simplifying the photo using both Buzz and Topaz Simplify -- each faded to about 50%. I merged that layer with the background and ran Topaz Adjust but I don't remember which setting -- just something which added more color. I faded that back also. On that layer, I used akvis sketch and applied redfield sketch master to the bw result I got from Akvis. I changed the blend mode to darken at 50% opacity. Merged those layers and turned the result to bw. I ran a sketch action on that which I layered on top of the akvis/redfield stack. Applied a layer mask and brushed out and/or lightened some of the details. This is probably clear as mud but that's pretty much what I did. Fran

Re: Lets go racing

Nice pic. My first thought was to go with a B&W sketch, but right away I saw that Fran beat me to it. Very nice Fran, I like it. So here's a go at a soft color pencil effect.
