covered bridge

I'm enjoying getting used to my new machine. Took me ages to find where they'd moved the color sampler tool :embarrassed:

Playing around with the 'render lighting effects' filter on just the green channel

Re: covered bridge

Oh, Nasturtium, your new version is spectacular. I needed to enlarge it to really appreciate it's nuances of color & light. Never tried to effect change on only one channel...great idea.

Re: covered bridge

Fran-Sweet edit. I love covered bridges too. I like how you cropped yours. And how the treatment accentuate the 'quaintness'
Veronica-Yeah, it's a pretty cool way to get heaps of instant texture.
OlBaldy-That's a really cool 'tactile' texture you achieved there and you did a really good job of smartening up the shadows inside the bridge
Danny-Whoa! Sinister edit! B/W gives this a haunted atmosphere

Re: covered bridge

Craig-You almost got a Norman Rockwell there! Great job
Steve - I thought I had. In Photoshop make a copy of your layer...got to filter>render>lighting effects. Just keep all the defaults except for two things...first choose just one channel at the bottom where it asks for a texture channel and you probably want to move the spotlight around so that it's shining from the top side down...HTH

Re: covered bridge

Skip-you snuck in there :-). That first vintage-y one is really spot on. Excellent treatment for this particular image

Re: covered bridge

Reminds me of the bridges we saw while visiting Amish Country a while back.

Re: covered bridge

What a beautifully simple photo and so many simply beautiful interpretations. Yikes, I can't believe I said something so corny. Ah, it's late, there's lotsa' snow outside and I'm tired.

Blended three layers...Impressionist over a sketch over original.
