Re: Pictures of India

Didn't know what to do with this one. Finally decided to make a seamless texture for it. I had to use CS2 this time since GML Matting filter won't run in GIMP. I then went to my crutch to finish the deed.

Re: Pictures of India

Hello!!
I'm glad you're having fun with the pictures
I've taken hundreds of them already!
I have over 4 weeks left in India, so expect to play with more pictures soon.
India is a beautiful country, very very interesting, and the people are absolutely lovely, and they LOVE to have their picture taken!
Sylvia

Thought I'd try a sketchy look on this one.

Re: Pictures of India

Used lots of filters on this one, so many I lost track of which ones I used.

What can I say! It's fantastic here! The Indian people are so much nicer than the ones we meet in other countries. They're extremely friendly, always ready to help, and very cheerful people, despite the poverty.

Traveling in India is quite a challenge though, especially by train. We just spent 2 nights on the train, with arrival at 4 and 6 a.m. Nobody tells you this is where you're supposed to get off, you have to share the compartment with 8 people (and that's in 1st class sleepers!), it's quite an adventure.
The country is not very clean, but the kindness of the people really compensates for a lot of disadvantages.
Also, it's always a struggle to find a decent hotel. We often have to put up with dingy, small dark rooms, unless we're willing to pay as much as in more "civilized" countries.
I guess they don't have the same priorities as us

Other than that, the country is extremely interesting in terms of photography, especially with all these women wearing saries. It's just beautiful. Right now, we're in the state of Goa. It's by the Arabian sea. At sunset time, it's full of fully clothed people in the water, quite a sight!
Needless to say, it's very hot here! I managed to burn today despite the fact that I've been exposed to the sun for the last 10 weeks.

I'll post more pictures soon.
Have you guys got preferences? More people, beach scenes, boats?

All the best,

Sylvia

Re: Pictures of India

Sylvia,

Thanks for the travel report! My request would be temples and saris. But anything exotic that has great light would be terrific.
