Re: Tulips

Haven't been playing with Impressionist a lot. Now that I have Impressionist working in GIMP, I guess I should do just that. Took my Van Gogh2 preset and voila. Thanks for the play Palms.

Re: Tulips

Just some subtle changes. Great composition to the image.

Peter S

I really liked your paper effect. Is the distortion to the image layer below an illusion, or did you warp the base image. It looks like the 3D effect is carried by the precieved lighting of the paper layer above, but I not sure.

Either way great effect.

Thanks - I'd love to say it took me hours to work it ----but it was a plug-in Jama 3D from Redfield http://www.redfieldplugins.com/filterJama3d.htm
And it's a freebie too.

Re: Tulips

Found this cool GIMP tut for creating Legos, so I said to myself, why not Lego the Tulip. I did do an additional trick to add some dimension and also used Xero Frittary filter instead of GIMP's Pixelize. Might share the additional trick if I get some interest.

Click here for the full rendition; attached is a crop.

Re: Tulips

Hey Palms. Check link below (and I did this one prior to learning a few more tricks) and see if you like. To get the additional dimension effect, I used GIMP's Bumpmap filter (no surprise; lol).

Re: Tulips

Thanks to Saul (see this thread), I now have a Script-fu that can create single colored tiles from selection islands. Used it to create the colored Organic Labyrinth.
