Re: Spring flowers.

Grant, I love it. The colors are wonderful together.Even the thumbnail is impressive, but the larger picture is great. What did you use to create the texture?[/QUOTE]

Thanks Shari. I used a grunge texture I downloaded, can't remember where from though. There are lots available on the net.

Grant

Thanks for the kind words. I merged two copies together. One was a vectorized version and one was a simplified version. Not sure what method, lighten mode maybe. In Impressionist I use different settings for each image. Trail and error by just changing until I like the effect.

Re: Spring flowers.

I have no idea why I made it look like flames in the BG, I think I just liked the contrast it made.

Trying a few G'MIC preset blends and this came of it.

Re: Spring flowers.

Interesting way you both changed colors of the original photos.

Peter, your "flames" look like glorious sun beams to me. Wow, do those colors together really pop!
Lyle, I like this. Nice delicate colors.

Re: Spring flowers.

Still playing with a crosstitch Script-fu. I did colorize the cells (no easy task; figured out how though). Click link below for full rez; attached is a scaled down low quality version.

Re: Spring flowers.

Lyle, if my eyes were up to crossstitch, I'd give this a try. Very interesting. I didn't know it was possible to do this.

Re: Spring flowers.

I've also seen opensource program that creates these. Still cool that stasson went to the trouble to port it to GIMP (link below). If I had the patience to cross stitch, I would (mean Joe Green did as I recalled).

Re: Spring flowers.

Correction; Rosie Greer, not Mean Joe Green. Apologies to Mr. Green.

Also a link to a free Online site that creates these in both text only and also colorized. Outputs a PDF file for you too.
