Re: Screech owl

Given our location with very little trees he is out of place. These guys like hidding in groves of trees high up. The only time i seen a screech owl was at the zoo here in Idaho. We do see a lot of barn owls and great horned owls here.

Re: Screech owl

Great capture. I tried to enhance the owl and mute the background. I have seen a few owls here and hear them once in awhile. The huge barn owls are really something to see in the wild.

Re: Screech owl

Nice capture. Used to have a screech owl when I was a kid. My dad and a of his co-worker rescued a mother and her babies from a barn that was being torn down. Once the barn was gone, they were relocated. Here's a photo of me with the mother. I was sure she wanted to take my ear off.

Chuck, she sure looks fascinated with that ear !! Everything I have read about owls makes me unlikely to ever put one on my shoulder... hope that there was a happy ending for you, your ear, the mama and baby owls.
