they are

1. cosmos with a unknown bug on it ( the green was much more pronouced on it )
2. corn cockle ( in a friends garden )
3. lily's ( again in a friends garden )
4. Rose ( a David Austin Rose that i had as a treat last year and love it to bits )

Re: a few assorted flowers

Pretty, all of them!
Grant, I loved what you did with the lilies. How did you get the texture like that?
OB and Grant, loved the roses.

Wasn't really happy with my end result. Should have added another lily to the left of the main one for better balance. Oh well... too late and too tired tonight. Sure was fun though.

Palms, thanks for posting the pics.

Thanks Becky. To get the texture put a blank layer on top of the background layer. Then clouds, glowing edges, emboss and then invert all on the same layer and set the blending mode to overlay and adjust opacity to your liking somewhere between 60-80% I generally use.Hope you can follow this.

Grant- that's a really cool way to get some nice texture into a photo

I used Grant's idea and then just kept running some of my actions and gave it a border

I love the old fashioned roses, too. The scent is so much more powerful than my tea roses. Unfortunately they are magnets for Japanese Beetles here. Before they even emerge from the bud, they are riddled with holes. Thanks for the link. David Austin roses are beautiful.

Re: a few assorted flowers

Another Fractilus attempt. Also, used that result to create the fired rose (see link below; too big for forum and didn't want to loose quality).

Some lovely work here folks! On any of the photo-art threads I can usually narrow them down to 1 or 2 that really stand out for me. Not on this thread.
