Leaving home

Every year a robin builds her nest on a shelf right beside my door. This year I took a shot of the baby robins each day from the time they were eggs till they left home. The family tolerated this pretty well. This photo is of baby number one after he left the nest and was preparing to enter the big wide world. I thought he might make a fun and slightly different project. As you can see, the robins created their own grunge background.

I used the PST with some smudging. I'm trying to learn to use a tablet. Have a lot of practice to do.

Re: Leaving home

Tolerated maybe, but look at that "Get Off My Lawn" look the robin has, lol.

I like this picture, it really has some character, and I like what you did with it.

Re: Leaving home

Thanks for the play Shari. Actually did the bulk of the render yesterday, but had to take a break and only finished it up just now.

Re: Leaving home

Thanks Roob. The mother served as house protection throughout the nesting period. Everytime anyone approached or left the house she swooped out from under the porch and scared the bejabbers out of us.
Olbaldy, I like everything about yours especially how you highlighted the baby's eyes. It really gives him personality.
Lyle, interesting use of color, but I am NOT painting my house blue.

Re: Leaving home

Thanks, Palms. I had a lot of fun watching the babies grow up. The family pretty much ignored us coming and going including the dog, who paid no attention whatever to the birds. I was afraid she'd grab a baby when they fledged but they all got safely away.
