Re: Roping and riding

thanks for the play. The dust under the horse's feet is really cool.
Ol Baldy - lol on the names of your files. Your first edit is really exceptional

I've been working on an illustrated look based on a few things I've learned here.

Glad you enjoyed the dust (Arizona has a lot). Your rendition with the light surroundings really focuses on the subjects.

I'm really glad that you folks added your artistic touches - I think that horses and cowboys/girls are great subjects, but I knew I hadn't gotten close enough for much detail for you to use in artwork. I'm planning on attending another roping/barrel racing event in a couple of weeks, and plan on using a different lens to get a different look.

I grew up listening to the deep voice of Vaughn Monroe singing this song, and that's always the way it plays in my head.

Re: Roping and riding

Hi CJ,
It's been a while since last posting, hope somebody remembers me. At the end of August I've got a big art shindig, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pocono...a/340967813931 and I've spent the past month (& more) getting about 30 matted & bagged prints together to sell. I've done most of them in the AHB style, and well, I'm just pooped out. When I saw these shots of yours, CJ, they captivated me...the colors, ah! so, sat down tonight and worked one up. I do not do edges well. At all. I wish I could emulate Palms style of leaving the outside white. Thanks for looking...and everyone else, you inspire.

Re: Roping and riding

Veronica, we "remember" you quite well. How exciting (and tiring, I'm sure) about your big show/auction!

Just lovely -- wish those mountains were there - I love your artistic impression.

Palms does handle those edges beautifully, but your "interior" work is handled beautifully also.
