Re: Paint my cat?

Enjoyed the play Dak; used several DAP presents (ran consecutively on top of each other inside DAP) before added some G'MIC to the mix. I attached a lower quality and smaller version; click link below for high quality/rez version.

Re: Paint my cat?

Dak, Nala is beautiful, as is, and I hope only to show how lovely she can look in another media. Your photo shows off her fur beautifully.

Re: Paint my cat?

What a pretty kitty! I used the trace tool in Inkscape and the pen drawing tool in G,mic, and added a texture.

Hey Lyle! Thanks for including the high rez version. I also did mine in DAP and I have a question for you about how DAP resizes images. Is there a way to set DAP to leave the image size to what the original is. Here is what it does to mine.... if the original image is 1000x800 pixels/10in x 8in/ resolution 100 then when DAP finishes with it the new image is 1600x1280 pixels/5.333in x 4.267in/resolution 300. I cant seem to find an option to change it to use the image settings of the original. Do you know if there is one? Thanks,

Dak

Thanks Dak. I smudged first then used a layer of Fractalius to bring out the fur a bit more.

You can, but only before you load an image into DAP (under tools>settings). Only can do this once too. If you want to change the dimensions again, you have to close DAP and reopen it again. I just resize in GIMP (don't want to deal with the process; not sure why Oscar handled sizing like he did, but I'm not a programmer either).

Thanks for the info. Guess I will continue to do it that way also.

Re: Paint my cat?

Love kitty pictures...

Very creative interpretations so far. Well done.

Mine is based on a modified version of Mike Finn's "insta-watercolor" action he wrote many years ago and layers rendered by Impressionist, Paint Engine and Topaz Simplify plugins.

Re: Paint my cat?

Bird's final revenge

On a mini DAP binge thanks to this cat. lol

Have to make excuses to use this preset when I can. Click here (http://a.imageshack.us/img840/316/na...doublefeat.jpg) for high quality full version; I attached a very low quality crop.

Re: Paint my cat?

Sorry I'm getting in late for this one. I have a passion for cats, and as others have said, "I couldn't resist". Your original photograph was very well done, lots of information, depth, pose...altogether great. I almost hated pushing her pixels around too much. AHB all the way.
