Nothing fancy here, just trying to make them look more like drawings than photographs.

Re: Shoes

Thanks Palms - One day I need to write down just what sequence was used. It seems like it is different each time. Basically it's:

Duplicate background and desaturate
Duplicate desaturated layer and invert with a layer blend mode of Color Dodge
Apply Gaussian Blur
Merge visible layers and darken with Brightness/Contrast
The pencil drawing effect comes from the Alien Skin Snap Art plugin.
Then I work to enhance the edges
From there it's whatever my imagination comes up with, it's never quite the same.

Hope this helps

Re: Shoes

Thx Palms :) Nice work everyone!

My image has several layers of filters (watercolour among them), a zap with Mesh 3D... and more layers and more ummm... stuff. One layer was an overlay of an image from Hubble.

Quite frankly, I became lost a long time ago with what I was doing with it LOL

Re: Shoes

Hi. I thought the shoes looked like a little boy's, and I wanted them to be blue. Then added the plaid pattern via displace map process. It was the 1st time I didn't look at directions! Yea! Also wanted to show them as rugged, so tried a background that wouldn't monopolize the shoes and...here they are.
Everyone's work is amazingly creative. Good pic, Palms.

Re: Shoes

Thanks, Lyle & Palms. BTW Lyle, I'm not entirely sure of what "skinning" means...although I can guess. I think. Nah. But thanks for your words!
Palms, I've screwed up so many times doing displacement, I think this
job was just a fluke. Thanks!
