Baking Bread

This is how I spend my time the first weekend in December every year. I can still smell the wonderful woodsmoke and the smell of baking bread, ham and bean soup, and our special Dutch Oven potatoes. Yummmm.

Have fun painting this frontier feast.

Re: Baking Bread

The cold days are already here. What better to warm the home then a Fireplace Flame. Hope you and family enjoy the bread Janet. Almost can smell the homemade bread (been way too long since I spelled that aroma; wasn't made in a hearth though). Thanks for the play.

Re: Baking Bread

Lyle, I love the face that appeared in the flames of your pictures. Great interpretation.

Re: Baking Bread

Love the smell of baking bread. When do we eat?
Here's something maybe a little ironic, a "watercolor" of a fire.

Re: Baking Bread

Sometimes the smell of baking bread can be a bit overwhelming as I found working near a large commercial bakery. But a fire blazing in a fireplace is definitely one of Life's most tranquil experiences.

Lyle & Skip: Both very nice renditions.

Grant: I definitely need to learn your style. Super image once again.

Thanks for the play Janet

Re: Baking Bread

Skip, Gene, Fran, and Palms, you all responded to a difficult art challenge with some very creative interpretations. I'm also thrilled that all of you brought out colors and detail that easily could have been lost in processing. Great work all. Thanks ever so much for sharing.

Skip, in answer to your question about eating...

Sorry, you missed it. Try next year on the first full weekend in December at Prairie Grove Battlefield in Arkansas, USA.

Merry Christmas all,

Janet
