Re: pedal pushers !

Don't know why but I seemed to struggle a bit on which way to go with these. They're great pics, I guess my brain is on a go slow. Here are my tries, a simple pencil on the pedal taxis and a combination of two DAP AOPs, Andy's Watercolor5 and Gruppe_wc on the bike.

Re: pedal pushers !

GIMP with G'MIC (various presets; don't recall now; lol) and Impressionist Geo Chaotic Chrome preset (yes; someone a while back figured out to get Impressionist to work in GIMP too; lol). Thanks for the comments Skip/Palms.

Re: pedal pushers !

Excellent results folks; definitely that Frac sketch is a keeper Peter. Went da Vinci on this one this time. I pretty much looked like it was on a da Vinci canvas already, so I abliged.

Re: pedal pushers !

da Vinci?? Where might I find that, Lyle. BTW real nice.

Alex: Love what you've done. I've not had a chance to play with this image yet. But what you produced is what I wish I had. <Smile>

Lyle & Skip: Also really like your sketch versions.

Super work everyone.

Wow, Peter! Wow!

Nice, Palms. Love the texture. Have come across many images over at RedBubble where a vintage feel is given to an image, partly from colouring, but many times by the texture added. Need to research and locate tutorials on turning images into textured vintage .

Re: pedal pushers !

Decided to have another go at the bike. Alien Skin Impasto and your paint texture Palms. A little photoshop texturizer as well, but that kind of got lost in reducing it for posting. Then framed it in Fotosketcher.

Re: pedal pushers !

I really love this image. I've been saving it on my hard drive wanting to do something extra special. But no matter what I did, nothing came close to the original. Tried sketches. Naw. Tried painting with DAP, FotoSketcher. Nope. Tried merging different attempts. Garbage.

Have been playing with textures and tints recently. Worked on this adding and deleting layers of textures, tints, shading.

What's here is my best attempt. Still a far cry from the beauty of the initial image. But at least along the way, I learned a bit more about playing with textures & tints. <Smile> FWIW, there are 9 layers (including the initial image) in this.)

Thanks for looking. And thanks for the play

Re: pedal pushers !

Palms,

I always enjoy your choices in images, Thanks

I tried to change the overall texture of the image and remove some of the color.

Re: pedal pushers !

Thanks Palms,
I noticed that you have been using more textures lately, sometimes I a amazed at the results with textures that seem to have nothing in common but when added together makes the image.

FranS, I really like the composition of your strollers image, Great use of color and detail
