Re: Fishing Boats

Lyle, was that really you? No thinking outside the box? I hope I'm not a bad influence on your creativity? Let me try to get you back in the swing of things.

Re: Fishing Boats

Very nice OlBaldy! The colors and textures are great and there seems to be a bit of a sepia tone to the picture. I use Snap Art some also, can you tell us which Sanp Art effects you used?

Here's my contribution.

OlBaldy, I'd also like to know what Snap Art effects you used. I've never had much luck with it.

Fran - Very nice. I've always been partial the more subtle color effects.

Re: Fishing Boats

WOW!! Great job, but I had to look at it a bit before I could see what part of the picture I was seeing.

Fran
First, in preparation to artify and on a copy of the original I adjusted the shadows and highlights did some selective sharpening and adjusted the contrast on the water... In Snap Art, I adjusted the sliders in 'Stylize' with the check box 'Create output in new layer above current' checked.... clicked 'OK'... changed mode to lighten... copied layer.. changed mode to darken...

back to the copy of the original, highlighted... then into Snap Art using 'Impasto'.. adjusted, OK, changed mode, copied, changed mode.... back to highlighting the copy of the original.... Snap Art again using 'Water Color'... repeat.....

ending with the copy of the original... 2 layers of 'Stylize'... 2 of 'Impasto'... and 2 of 'Water Color' checked..

Adjusted the opacity on these 6 new Light/Dark layers till pleasing...

I then brought a copy of the original copy to the top of the stack and fiddled with different mode settings and opacities to bring back a hint of some color and details from the original using a mask on any or all of the layers to show/hide details if needed

I Hope this helps some

Very impressive, OlBaldy. I'll have to give SnapArt another try.

Re: Fishing Boats

You guys are too much! Amazing, though, is how much (if you're really honest with yourself) of your inner self is revealed in various interpretations. At least that's what I believe.

"No Fishing Today"...

Re: Fishing Boats

Beautiful work everyone. Lyle, you had me worried too for a moment. <Grin>

Had a go with this. Actually three gos. <Smile>

First a coloured line art done in Paintshop Pro v9
Second a B&W sketch in FotoSketcher
Lastly, a Vitaly watercolour.

Hope you enjoy them. And Thanks Skip for the picture to place with.
