Though my flow is completely different, I still call this one a Neon Dark. Like this look for some reason (just call me crazy; lol).

Decided to FotoSketcher this time (trust me; I tried a lot of things before going to FotoSketcher. Figure you all were getting tired of Neon Dark. lol).

Re: Thailand 2

Never did thank you Sylvia for allow us to play with these captures. I do appreciate you sharing them for my play. Anyway, some failed experiments then fed that result into FotoSketcher for the magic.

Thanks Lyle and it looks like you have been quite busy with different ideas. I want to try a neon light effect, but haven't decided which picture to use.

Sorry . I like very much your silk making picture. The guy is actually boiling the silk warms alive in order to get the thread out .

You're welcome, Lyle. I do enjoy seeing what you guys come up with.

Thanks Sylvia and thanks also for the pictures you post. It gives us a chance to see parts of the world we would not see otherwise.

OK, a neon effect and a more sedate one of Naklua Beach.

Re: Thailand 2

These are such interesting photographs...many could become travel posters in their own right. Thanks again, Sylvia.

For the Thai model, first "glamorized" her, changed the bkgrnd to a texture in my files (that's an evening handbag of mine then added some PS lighting. Her hair could have been a problem because I didn't want to spend so much time on masking, so, just sniped the unruly hairs and repainted and smudged it. Finally, ran her through Fotosketcher.

Thanks!

Re: Thailand 2

Another great set of images, Sylvia. Merçi!

Here are two that I enjoyed playing with.

The first - Naklua beach was done using DAP and the Gruppe watercolour AOP. With additional processing in PSPv09

The second - Silk making - was done in PS CS4 following Vitaly's tutorial. A few tweaks in PSPv9 as well

Hope you like them and thanks for the play.

Newbie Re: Thailand 2

thanks for the play Sylvia from one of my favorite places on earth.couldn't take the Silk worms boiling alive tho.......Not very Buddhist is it?

My one entry is a lot of PS + Topaz reducing detail making colors more saturated and then went to Filter Forge and used "Fractillius." Not sure what the heck i wound up with but I like it.

Re: Thailand 2

If I remember correctly "Pattaya" isn't far from "Kilo-sip" which is about 2-3 miles from U-Tapao Airfield. The base where we flew B52's out of during the S.E.A. crisis......Is that correct, do you know, Syl?

Re: Thailand 2

Gunner - I'm not Sylvia, but a look at Google Maps shows U-Tapao Airfield (now U-Tapao Intl Airport) about 35-40 miles SSE of Pattaya. The runway appears to be 10+ thousand feet long and has enough ramp space for two or more squadrons of B-52s.

Re: Thailand 2

Thanks for looking it up. They also flew a large amount of KC136 Tankers out of there. They were flying out of there before the B52's ever landed at that place.

Glad Skip answered your question, Gunner, I've never been to that airport, I always fly from Bangkok.

Re: Thailand 2

Don't know why anyone would fly into that one from an International flight either. course Pattaya is a beach resort town. Maybe that's the draw from around that part of the country/world. Liu Mei?
