Re: wedding themed

Here's a couple to get things started. The wedding cake in black&white pencil with some color highlights and a watercolor of the hands with bouquet.

Re: wedding themed

Finally got around to playing with these. I used the AHB on the girl and just played around with a few different filters on the couple. Thanks for posting Palms.

Definitely some fantastic results Grant. Threw a few filters at this one for my result.

Thanks Lyle. Really like your version. What filters did you use? I suppose it was Gimpy stuff.

Re: wedding themed

Too early in the morning to remember them all, but I do remember that I blended in results from FotoSketcher (oil pastel sketch) in the mix.

Re: wedding themed

These shots offer so much for experimenting, thanks Palms. BTW, your soft treatment of the little girl is fab.

AHB for the cake, and the rest of the image just sort of painted itself. I've had that bow brush for so long and seemed like the right time to use it. Not great but enjoyed the play.

Re: wedding themed

Every so often I attempt to semi-automate this guy's work, but of course, it's pretty much a lost cause. Still having fun trying though.

Click here for just the dots (on transparent background; png); attached is a pretty compressed (and noisy) result.

Re: wedding themed

Well, I had another brain phart and this is the result of said phart. Getting very close now; still not going to be as posh as hand-placed dots, but still, I have very little patience so content with this result. Hopefully you all will be too.

Re: wedding themed

Lyle, dot's nice..really I mean it. Thanks also for the link. Ben Heine's work is extraordinary. Of course he's no Lyle, but good just the same.
Palms, your faint work is not for the faint of heart. It is powerful. I know I said that before.
Skip...I really like your watercolors.
Grant..the pic of the couple reminds me of a tissue paper collage. Was it just PS filters, or some other exotic (eg, $$) plug in?
OB, thank you. I think any photog worth his salt would know better.
Peter, that treatment on the little girl is nothing short of spectacular.

This picture of the couple I did not like, not sure why. I didn't like the girl's tan, did not like the overly saturated orange feet, but still, I tried. First used fotosketcher for a cartoon approach, followed by AHB. I figured I'm probably jealous watching them in the surf while I am surrounded by springtime snow.

Re: wedding themed

I didn't work on any of these the first time around. I fell in love with the photo of the little flower girl I did two versions: I used Topaz and Postworkshop on both.

Re: wedding themed

DAP (I've been comparing Demos of Snap Art and DAP - but I think I'm going to save up for Painter bcs it just gives you so much more control over stroke direction and what the paint 'dabs' look like)

Thanks for the play

Re: wedding themed

Yes, Fran. But yet, I would like to make a softer looking color, especially the face. Should have lightened the hues before AHB-ing!

Re: wedding themed

Sure Fran, but I'm not sure which fav's? You mean the ones I use for AHB? I'm not too diversified there, basically the ones on Vitalli's site. Sometimes I add some extras as an underneath layer to the AHB. Do you mean that? Anyway, here's a sample of the watery type ones I do use.

PBase is the place I use for display galleries but this gallery is just a catch-all for experiments, not meant to be "art".
