People in Paris would be my first choice. I much appreciate the offer.....(when your time allows.)

(Second choice.) Am always looking for vintage photos of Paris in the late 1800's.

Guess you heard of the fire at the L'Elysée-Montmartre.

Re: People in China

Simple flatted result susing a neutral grey as base layer with original layer set to both Saturation and also Hue and then separated just the darks to blend in. Some cleanup/contrast work afterwards.

Hmm, you're out of luck with your choice of pictures. I don't have the kind you want ...

The restaurant/theatre/etc L'Elysée-Montmartre where Lautrec and friends hung out, was gutted by fire several weeks ago. Thought you might have seen the story in your newspaper.

I have not seen any, but Lautrec did some paintings of the place and the people there.

It was built in 1800 and still was open for business. Internet may have more info.

Hmmm, I don't read newspapers and barely watch TV when I'm in Asia, so no, I didn't know about it. And it would certainly not make the headlines in Thailand , what with the hookers, ladyboys and their mugged customers keeping us entertained on the news .

Re: People in China

So, besides a vision of many artistic styles and techniques, we also get an armchair view of global customs and practices. Wow, it doesn't get any better than this! Here's my addition to the pot:

ps: Silvia's Domino Players looks like a reinactment of Cezanne's Card Players, no?

Funny you would say that. That's exactly what I was thinking when I took that picture (although I didn't know which painter had painted that one).

Here's my pale imitation, using Impressionist and Match Color.

Great job, Sylvia. I gave that one a try too. I used Topaz and Snap Art Watercolor.
