Re: Light house

There is a lot of detail in the rocks and the boat that made the boat get lost in the background, so I made some alterations before doing the photo-art thang: some curving and blending in RGB and Lab to lighten the boat and increase contrast while flattening and darkening the highlights of the rocks.

It's worked to a degree, but not brilliant.

Thanks for posting the lighthouse photos.

I don't know what I did but here's my first try.

Re: Light house

Great picture

Sylvia, I love the blues in your rendition. They really make the picture pop.

I just went with a basic pencil, however, the boat does kind of get lost in the rocks

Re: Light house

This whole original image was so Edward Hopperish, just couldn't take my eyes off it.

Really, plenty of artistic expression by everyone. What appeared to me to be a rather simplistic image turned out to be a source of great creativity.

I chose to alter this gorgeous photograph with a D & B layer to create greater atmospheric depth. I also used a texture filter to increase light & shadow play. Finally a rope frame...not so great but fun to make anyway!
