Re: Horse Races Nice photos, Fran. I love the slight motion blur of the horse's legs.

Re: Horse Races Thanks for your kind words about the photos, Crapaud. Very nice version. You really brought out a lot of detail in the photo. I also tried working on the first photo. I attempted a watercolor and a Nieman-type version. Fran

Re: Horse Races Lyle, you did a great job with DAP. Did you make up your own style? LeRoy would be pleased to see your tribute to him. How did you do it? Did you use GIMP? OlBaldy, nice job with Fotosketcher. I can't seem to get that kind of result. Joe, great job on both of them. I especially like the first one. Crapaud, two more really well done versions. I admire anyone who can use the AHB and get good results with it. Skip, really nice watercolor. Love it. Fran

Re: Horse Races Glad you liked my results Fran. Dynamic Pointillism is not my preset but the DAP forum died a year ago and last fall it had to be revamped from scratch so the original author and his presets no longer exists (except locally on my drive and a few lucky others). PM me and I'll pass them to you (see no problem to privately share but won't publically since I'm not the originator; not really a copyright issue since it's a preset to another program, but still won't publically share since the preset's not mine). As for the Leroy Neiman, I did use Xero's Iridium to add some false colors before running Impressionism filter. Also blended in some FotoSketcher to this mix.

Re: Horse Races I did a couple of versions of the second photo. I used the impressionist filter to distort the background. In the first version, I then used a couple of layers of Topaz Adjust and blended in a color sketch. In the second version, I'm still struggling to do something semi-Neiman like. Fran

Re: Horse Races Gosh, I thought for sure I posted this this afternoon...but it's not here. I hope it doesn't wind up on another forum, like Critiques 'cause it would really get razzed! Anyway, here it is. Fran, how'd you do? Love the races.

Re: Horse Races Hey Fran; just realized that I did leave out a crucial step. Before applying either FotoSketcher or Impressionist, I did run a Cartoonize Script-fu which basically outlines the details and solid fills the more smooth features. Sorry about that oversite. Below's straight cartoonize (no newsprint effect option).

| Re: Horse Races I love both of them, Veralisa. I love the loose sketch effect. Did you hand draw the lines? I broke even at the races. I wouldn't complain even if I lost though. The thoroughbreds only run in Saratoga during the month of August so it's a great way to spend a day. Nice cartoon effect. Lyle. Did you write the script? The link worked perfectly. Thanks so much. | Re: Horse Races Here's another interpretation of this one Fran. Used PostworkShop (Fine Etch) for the most part, but did add a few additional bells and whitles including Amphisoft's Xylograph filter. |

Re: Horse Races Alex, you do more than "try" to watercolor. Your work is top notch. I looked at your photobucket gallery. You have many, many wonderful works of art. Lyle, good job with Postworkshop. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Do you know if there are any forums???

Re: Horse Races Hey Fran; the only forum I know of is the one at postworkshop's site itself, but I'm not a member of it so don't really know how good it is. I then to hack my way through PwS and it's pretty much intuitive for me anyway but I usually copy/paste between it and GIMP and also do some other things within GIMP. http://postworkshop.net/forum
