creative interpretations | reflection & boat

I shot this yesterday bcs I thought the building reflection was kinda interesting. When I opened it up in Lightroom I saw that the texture of the water in the lower right would lend itself to digital painting.

Please don't rehost my original*. You can do whatever you like with your edit.

I ran mine through GMX-Photopainter and then layered it in PS with the original and masked bits & accented the blues.

*I've put the SOOC full version in my Dropbox public folder if you'd prefer to start with that. Have fun! -- Nancy

Your direct link doesn't work. Your preview here's a little dinky but did enjoy the play none the less. Thanks for sharing Nancy.

Sorry, I've updated the link & hope it works now. Fun edit, Lyle, I'd like a scarf with that zig-zag pattern under the boat. What did you use to make your version?

If you are referring to the water, I used a GIMP Ripple filter to do the zig/zag effect otherwise the water didn't look like water after I rendered it originally. lol

Thanks for the play Nancy!

A lot of layers and filters blended together... Fractalius, SnapArt, Fotosketcher, Elim white, impasto.. etc

I really like this photo, thanks for sharing it. I used the abstract preset in Topaz Detail and played with the sliders.

~.~0lBaldy~.~ Don't you hate it when you get the best edit with just one click? It's so much more fun to just mess with a bunch of different things. That looks a bit like a tapestry - it's cool

Pat - Thank you. That's one plug-in I don't have. That's a really beautiful texture you've achieved
