Couldn't resist turning the ghost boat into an alien star ship. I used a mirror image filter from Filter Forge to form the hull, applied a Munchist art effect, used a 'difference' layer mode on top of the pre-Munchist layer, turned the image upside down, and masked in a star field as a background. All done in PhotoPlus X5.

Now that one don't look nothing like a boat Pat, but the result's definitely cool. Reminds me of the Space Invaders ships (what they would look like if you had a better graphic engine that is) for whatever reason. lol

Mostly GMX painter but I layered it in PS and played, and played and played :-)

Tried to come up with something to out wack Pat, but alas, my creative juices couldn't do so today. lol

A simple oil on canvas effect is all that I could pop out. Getting old. lol

Good choice of image to work with, Joe - lots of interesting interpretations so far. I used Topaz filters plus emboss and masks and mixed it up.

If you look at it upside-down it looks more like a boat.

Your oil painting is nice, Lyle.

Mine didn't start out to be an alien ship but when I saw it with the Munchist effect after the mirror image the first thing I was reminded of was the big mother ship in Clouse Encounters. So I had that in mind when I was finishing the picture.

Here is a different picture where I did a similar thing, the original was a photo taken by a friend of the back wheel of his bike.
