It's really developing nicely! Now you just need to add a bit of shading to make it look more realistic and give the image more depth.

I see you flipped the eyes because the highlights are flipped and give a crosseyed look. There are some specific proportions that apply to any human face with small deviations of course. One thing the human face is never completely symetrical. another is the mouth generally ends at point straight down from either eye. There are a lot more proportional things you learn in art school and books and observation. It all takes time, keep on pluggin"

Fort his image I was trying for a stylized look. When I get an eye that works, I'll probably flip it (adjusting the catchlights per your recommendation) and file the image somewhere. It's something I've had in my mind for sometime. I had wanted to get a girl to pose for me with very light makeup and dark lipstick and eye shadow and I was planning on flat-lighting it and slightly overexposing but this is the kind of thing I had in mind...(Except for the part where I can't draw! )

YIKES! That's a pretty short tutorial for something so well done. I love how the artist rendered the man's face but really!?!...Shouldn't he have included some step-by-step details?

Thanks. Still not enough steps and details.

The thing that's so hard about doing (long) women's lashes is simulating the curve and depth. It's very difficult to achieve that when drawing. I notice most artists choose instead to abstract women's lashes and just create the feeling of depth and curve. That's what I'd like to learn! :-)

Pam - Those are wonderful. I had seen them both before but they are definitely worth saving! :-)

Unfortunately, as good as those tutorials are, they provide no detail on creating lashes... Oh well. I guess I really need some lessons!
