BK, it seems we had some of the same ideas.

I used graphic pen on a layer and then embossed that layer -- added a normal layer with a vivid light blend, then used Liquefy on the embossed pen layer to swoosh some of the colors around. Replaced some of the blue sky with near sundown magenta.

Took a few minutes to play with this one.

in PS7, layer with anisotropic filter, layer with Find edges (multiply), selected sky + Hue/saturation and Crayon filter, selected mountains + Hue/saturation.
