I love to work on photos of architecture.

I wanted to do a water color, but the photo was too saturated and I didn't like the sky. So I tweaked some levels, HSL, and did some bluring and stuff before sketching. Used a spatter brush at different sizes and opacity to paint back a history.

...and an oil.

The mission, by the way (in case anyone's interested) is San Xavier del Bac, outside of Tucson. My grandparents lived there (Tucson, not the mission) in the 50's, and when we visited them, they took us everywhere.

drawing imitation.
