Wow, Sylvia. You've resurrected one of the first threads I participated in! I always thought this was a great picture too.

This is a Dagwood sandwich of variations of two DAPainter renditions in CS4.

What a great picture. Forget about the rule of thirds on this one.

Re: Creative interpretations: Rocky Morning

what an amazing array of renditions in this thread! i'm proud to know such talented folks!

and, i just had to have a play at this one. odd that i missed this one before now.

this was first worked with a wonderful filter in filter forge. it wasnt one of mine and i'm totally jealous of the person that did this one. it's called "Sketchy Painting" and got an editor's pick in the filter forge library. it's obvious why when you see it in action.

i took my results from the filter and brought it back into paint shop pro. there, i placed my FF rendition over the original photo and used a blend mode. i copy merged and made a new layer with that and applied some lighting effects.

i really liked my results with this one and it also goes to show that when you start with a good image you tend to get better results. great original photo!

Wow this picture is great, it is perfect just as is, although it looks like it has post process. Also a very versatile picture. I mean it looks great almost with everything you throw at it.

Re: Creative interpretations: Rocky Morning

Love this image and lots of fun to play with. Here is my offering using CS 5 and other tools.

I used Topaz denoise to the extreme followed up with some selective blurring of the background. Adjusted the saturation globally followed up with the use of the sponge tool to selectively saturate some sections. I also through in a layer and painted in the walkway with some brownish tones and blended with color burn. Then I added in a bit more light from the right with Mystic Lighting on a layer and subdued it to what I wanted with the opacity slider.

Lastly I cropped it to alter the compostion a bit.

I was going for that Disney cartoon sort of look.

Re: Creative interpretations: Rocky Morning

This photograph is appealing to me on many levels. Glad to see it's been revitalized.

Mostly AHB.

Re: Creative interpretations: Rocky Morning

I never saw this on before but I love the photograph. I see it got a lot of play.

I used Topaz, PostWorkShop, and Impressionist to do this one.

I did see this ages ago, but only did something about until now. So many superb interpretations of a truly excellent photo. This one used principally the Impressionist Plugin.
