Creative interpretations: Rugby, anyone?

Looks like they're getting a kick out of this game, no?

Enjoy...

Not many rugby fans, I take it... Oh well, ya can't win 'em all.

I merged the results of two actions I'm developing, one for the sort of arty, painterly-like colors, the other for the detail layer which overlayed it.

I'll post the details if anyone is interested.

Always ineterested

Well I am always interested in learning, have a long way to go!
As for the rugby, sadly, after losing in the World Cup again, its not a happy topic :-(

This is a very different type image than I usually work with . . . learning something new! I'd love to be able to take this type of action shot well, as I have a nephew who plays high school soccer.

I used Insta-Sketch pro for this one.

Hi Danny:
Thanks for the opportunity to work on masking. All I did was:
1. Did adjustment to original B/C, Emboss and Sharpen
2. Split the iamge into two parts b&w and left the color iamge
3. Radial zoom on B&W
4. Masked center player on to B&W
5. Touched up a little
Thanks for the picture.
Bob

What is that guys name, the artist that has done all the sports paintings Neiman? It will come to me. This is outstanding and of course you know I want to know all the details. Roy Neiman I think that is it.

Square dots.

Was going to do a Neimanesque rendering, but the original was way too small, and due to size constraints vs. quality, decided to leave this one as square dots. Used DCSpecial's ICE4 filter and GIMP's Dilate filter for this one. Topped it off with a Warp Sharp Script-fu to help fill in some of the gaps. Still not happy with the quality due to compression, so here's a higher quality version.

Here's a "not quite Neiman" version.

Re: Creative interpretations: Rugby, anyone?

Hahah... Craig.. you caught me! I did use motion blur, but then a cut out filter and a mask on the blur to try to reduce the streakiness that motion blur imparts and is a dead give away. Ya got a good eye, laddy. LOL
