| | Like CJ: Lighting Effects with texture on the blue channel really makes a "painting' stand out.
First 10 min Toolkit then... well the palette tells the story.

| | | What a rare display of creativity! I've wanted to try something already in sepia colours in Painter so settled for using this photo.
Cloned using:-
Cloners/Bristle Brush Cloner - Coat
Cloners/Chalk Cloner - Hat
Cloners/Wet Oils Cloner 10 - Skin
Blenders/Grainy Wash - Skin and Jacket
Cloners/Soft Cloner - all of the jacket and empty spaces
Goache? - Saxophone
Cloners/Soft Cloner - slightly on and around saxophone |

You forgot to mention your special "eye for color" -- your use of color is exciting, bold, and enhances your work; this one is another wonderful result. |

| | This is a cool picture!
I really like the wild-colored renditions by jaykita and kiska, but when you see my version, you'll know why...I'm a color fanatic!
3 layers (from bottom up)
1st: cutout filter (then faded a bit)
2nd: dup of 1st layer then find edges filtered, set to soft light
3rd: dup of 1st layer then inversed & set to difference mode
had to mask layer 3 a bit when his shadow turned pink...a bit bright, even for my tastes!
Anyway, it was fun--thanks for sharing the pic! |

| | | Painterly style with the GIMP I used the gimpressionist plugin with several layers. The bottom layer with larger paint strokes and less detail. The upper layer with smaller paint strokes and more detail. The upper layer is mode is set to multiply and the opacity reduced. |
