Butterflies seem to be a popular subject, so let's give this one a go.

If you'd like to combine this image with others, by all means do so. Or you can use this one as is.

Springtime is approaching, so if the sun isn't actually shining where you are, pretend it is.

A little invert and difference on a duped layer.

Catia - Inspired and very colorful. Great use of an easy technique.

ZB - Great to see you drop in and play along. It's always nice to have talented folks like you share your skills and techniques.

I'm a little behind the times... Are these public domain? In an event can you post links for more info.

Thx/Danny

Big Sis greets little bro. I knew my pet caterpillar would come in handy. Added some noise and a Sandwater lacquer.

Cheers

Pixia and Plasteroid

Pixia is a freebie image editing and paint program out of Japan. It has a lot of features for a free program, including layers, and has a really nice watercolor filter. (The watercolor filter is an add-on, but also free.) Here is the link.

Plasteroid is a new texture filter developed by Redfield. It is similar to Hypertile, but is cheaper ($28) and has a more intuitive interface. I'm just beginning to use it. It also has some nice framing features. (I think "Plasteroid" is not the best name they could have come up with.) You can download a free demo. It's worth a look.

Oooh, I really like Catia's!

I have an impressionistic view, not using Impressionist!
* Edges->Dialate
* Hot Wax Coating
* Edges->Dilate (2x)
* FilterMeister Min-I-Max
* Soften Edges More
* Enhance Edges More

Thanks for the comments Danny and Jeff.

Jeff, I am assuming that was done in PSP8. Unfortunately, I don't have FilterMeister for my version.

I like the result.

FilterMeister is a plugin for writing plugins. You can download it at: http://www.filtermeister.com The demo package comes with the Min-I-Max filter already compiled and ready to use.

The Amphisoft Sorting-Shaman (from http://photoshop.msk.ru/) is -VERY- similar (it was written by the same author), and the lite version works well.

Cheers!
