Creative interpretations: Portrait - Mika in a Towel

Another adorable kid pic. Don't you love those eyes?

This is a great photo! Her eyes really grab you.

This was done using custom presets in impressionist. I made several different layers and blended them together. Topped that with a sketch layer at low opacity.

I had to try 2. The second is mostly virtual painter's new air brush.

Rather than do too much with filters, I decided to slightly alter the image to increase the look of awe. Lightened hand, introduced more yellow to the face. Sharpened 1.2/200/0. Selective color: Blues, yellow and black to extreme left. Selected background and ran Eye Candy Corona. Raised the eyebrows slightly along with a slight upturn in the corner of the mouth with Liquify.

Cheers
Duv

I took a page out of Cheryl's book and took the Impressionist route.

Layer stack:
* Copy of Background + Impressionist: Natural - Gauze (for a little texture; blended w/layer mask)
* New layer: Used to clone out a few blobs and repaint hand that I thought looked a little funny colorwise
* Copy of Background + Ocean Ripple (to mess up her bangs a bit; blended w/layer mask)
* Copy of Background + Angled Strokes (to restore some eye, nose and mouth detail; blended w/layer mask)
* Copy of Background + Find Edges + Desaturate [blend=darken] (for some edge detail; blended w/layer mask)
* Copy of Background + Impressionist: Charcoal - Default
* (off) Background

Although this filter would be more appropriate with an adult subject, not a child, I tried this with VP4's new Embroidery filter set one subtle, intense, subtle, subtle, normal. Really kinda cool abstracty effect. Notice the stitches on the towel area.
