Gave it another go. Flipped of course. That guitar has to be worth the price of a small house now.

Re: Creative interpretations: Beatles, John Lennon

Great effects all, but no one's noticed that the photo is not really John! It looks like a Beatles cover band member. Why?

1) The color and overall feel of the photo looks too modern

2) John did not wear his wedding ring (and if he did, it would be on his right hand as a Brit, yes?)

3) His earlobes were different

4) I don't think they used Shure SM58 mics

5) I don't recall them wearing such shades in concert at that time (circa-1965)

Here's a shot of the real John in a similar pose and getup.

Well you guys inspired me to take a crack at this one, using some of Jeremy Sutton's brushes in Painter IX and then to CS 5 to finish it off.

As for the fake John, well I would not know the real one had he been standing next to me with a nametag on. But, all of your points noted, I still like the image, whomever he might be.

That's very good, gm.

As for the real John, if you ever see him, Elvis will be with him, so you'll know.

Nicely done, GM. Especially like the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds inspired colors.
