Re: Creative interpretations: Tiger Closeup

Saw this ivey growing on the side of this brick wall and said to myself that it looked a lot like this tiger. What do you all think?

Used Auto Painter Express and then used a mask to do some fill in using Photoshop CS5, also texturing and sharpen in PS.

My go at a watercolor. I really like the colors in ALex's above.

Re: Creative interpretations: Tiger Closeup

This was a wonderful thread to bring back. Everyone has done really terrific interpretations.

I'm trying to learn the AHB so that's what I used.

Re: Creative interpretations: Tiger Closeup

Fran, you've inspired me to have another go at Vasilly's AHB watercolour technique. I still haven't quite hit the nail yet, but it's the best I've managed so far. Any critiques / pointers welcome.

Crapaud, first time I've inspired anybody!! I think you did a great job. I've been trying to use Vitally's technique too. Palms also has a great tutorial here on RP. I don't know if you've seen it or not.

Re: Creative interpretations: Tiger Closeup

This whole sight's inspiring me, Fran. I kind of want to do everything that everyone else does - there're some fantastic talents here. I spent an hour this afternoon looking at Sylvia's Flicker account and I might have to fork out for her tuts e-book ... or resign myself to mediocrity.

I've probably seen Palms tut, but I've looked at so much recently that my brain's mush. Is that the smudge tutorial?

Re: Creative interpretations: Tiger Closeup

Fran and Crapaud you have both done really well, and have both submitted great versions (as has everyone else )

You could use the history brush at say 20% on the eyes to bring a bit more detail to them

and i think that Fran means my ahb sort of tut ( not that good at writing them ) here is one of them ahb

The links used to be in my signature but I dont have that option anymore, so you will have to search for all the others ( just noticed that it seems to be a new thing ! ! ! )

Re: Creative interpretations: Tiger Closeup

Yes, Palms, that's the tut I was referring to. It has helped me a lot.

Palms, could you explain the difference between the AHB and the history brush?

Thanks,
Fran
