If you have any (or all) of these programs or plugins:
* Photoshop
* Corel Photo-Paint
* Buzz 2
* Impressionist
* Paint Engine
* Virtual Painter
* Microsoft PictureIt!
* Flaming Pear India Ink
* MGI PhotoSuite III
(plus more in the works)
...and get a headache trying to keep track of what filter or plugin generates what effect, check out the links below.
A gentleman by the name of Bob McCormick has created a document in Microsoft Word format for each of the above programs/plugins. Each document contains a "standard image" and a screenshot of what you get when you apply each default preset to the standard image, plus a screenshot of the settings applied.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
$0.00 - Zip, nada, zero, nothing. Available for you to download courtesy of Bob.
I had the privilege of seeing the beta versions and found them to be quite useful. I discovered settings I hadn't tried yet and appreciated the convenience of paging through a document to preview results vs. physically applying each to an image.
*THANK YOU* Bob for this monumental effort.

Note: Each file is ~ 3-5 MB each so dialup users have a reasonable chance of downloading them.
Thank you for these Bob, If you want to try an alternative to Adobe Acrobat for PDF's try PDF995 a small lightweight PDF writer which installs as a printer and works much faster than Acrobat Printer.
I have just converted 168 Mb of your files to PDF using PDF995 - time approx 30 minutes. Size of PDF's 100Mb.
Thank you, Bob, for doing so much. Changing an image into any kind of art takes a vision, however, as in my case, expressing it on paper is another story. Your kind of help has been God sent.
