| The first one is mostly impressionist with a few other things thrown in for fun. The second one is an abstract with a litho effect. AmyHutton Last edited by ahutton; 08-24-2004 at 08:27 PM. |

| All right, so I have to ask...is that really a white oleander, an onion and a violin? If it is, what is the symbolism in having these three things together in a classy photo? This one is too good to pass up. I'll be working on it in the a.m. when I'm only 1/2 braindead. Night all and have fun. |

| My version on this: Duplicate background twice. Bottom layer use glowing edges - blur slightly, use to create alpha channel. Load alpha channel as mask on second duplicate of background, Ctrl J to copy to new layer. Pencil sketch. Back to second duplicate and Xero line art in drawing mode to get much lighter version of image. Move above pencil sketch layer change mode to soft light. Add a new blank layer between pencil sketch and background - fill and texture. With rough edge brush mask out edges of line art and pencil sketch layer. Christine |

Don't have the plug-ins Here's a coffee break abstract: Level ajust to brighten up a bit [bright]; Duplicate [bright], apply Cutout 4/8/2; Duplicate [bright], apply Cutout 2/10/3; Set blending of this upper layer to Hue and.... voilá, instant Picasso (or is it Salvador Dali? )have fun, Roland |

| classy violin Absolutely nothing fancy here. Everything is fairly straightforward. I tried just find edges and just a simple pencil sketch tutorial. Separately neither did what I wanted. Used together they gave the edge I was seeking. The screen shot is the easiest way to describe the method. I love looking at everyone's interpretations. Each and every one of them are inspirations. |

But I ended up doing something 10 times more complicated. Followed your instructions, but used pen instead of pencil. <post 2> Liked your way better............. Thanks, Roland |

| viola Byro, funny what others see in your art. Thanks for the compliment. But I liked yours way better. Seriously. It is so fun to try new techniques and try for something different. I appreciate your contributions. You do very well at this artsy stuff. Janet |

| ByRo's Viola I liked ByRo's last viola entry (most likely posted above this one of mine). I downloaded it and added my own take. We are shooting for something akin to colored pencils. Critiques and advice welcome. Janet ** Replaced damaged picture with one hopefully better suited. This one is somewhat better than the original. The compression just isn't doing this justice. I apologize. Last edited by Janet Petty; 08-30-2004 at 03:47 PM. Reason: replaced damaged picture |
