kiska | Awesome. Very arty. Which of the Painter brushes did you use to do the cloning?

| | | Thanks Danny, I used the auto-clone. I think it was impressionist, and I clicked as quickly as I could to stop it. Do you follow??

kiska | Yep... I'm familiar with Auto-clone. You're right: You gotta be fast on the trigger to keep it under control! (LOL) |

| | | Kiska -- very cool! I like the texture and the emphasis on the players.
I corrected the color with a curves adjustment, then tried a number of things just to abstract the crowd and background and enhance the drama of the players involved in the play. I used Smart Blur - edges only on a layer, then put an original copy layer over that (to add back some color) with a Screen layer blend and masked all but the players - then added Noise for some texture. Added another original copy layer with an Overlay blend and masked out the background. Added an empty layer with an Exclusion blend and painted a pinkish color over all but the players, ball, and hoop. Made a Stamped copy of the image and made a copy. Ran the Extrude filter on the top copy to add some motion and masked out the effect in the background. |

| | | CJ- I like that! You've done things I wouldn't have thunk of. I've shied away from the Extrude thing. Might have to get brave!

What is abstractdrawing? This is the exact effect I was looking for to do a project. Any pointers on how to achieve? or what software, or photoshop action was used to create?
Thanks in advance! |

| | | ran Toadie's action Picasso's Last Word, then used the history brush to bring the players and the net back partway. Followed by Impressionist with Fluffbutt's goache setting, faded to 50%. |

| | | I tried to emphasize the 2 central players.
1. Buzz gloss stack modified (all at 5-8 except remove around 100, added brightness and contrast at 40 each)
2.brightness and contrast adjustment around 20 each
3. Select black with magic wand then select inverse
4. Paint image back in with history brush. Painted more heavily on the players and less on the background.
5. Ran impressionist and paint engine
6. select inverse and ran virtual painter oil
7. used the blur tool on the background a little
8. played around to fine tune the color |
