I seriously doubt these flowers are impatiens for two simple reasons. One, they are wildflowers and I found them in the deep woods; Two, they are perennials. I don't believe impatiens are. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. (Ok, I did find out there are some varieties of impatiens that are perennials.)

In the meantime, have fun with them. I'm sitting here iced in and wishing for spring and more wildflowers. I'll do some serious research into finding out what kind of flowers they are and let ya'll know.

I'm glad everyone has such a variety of artistic talent. Wonderful stuff.

Janet

These flowers are in the phlox family. Referenced "Wildflowers of Arkansas" by Carl G. Hunter.

Defiitely in favor of Spring and Summer. Our trees and flowers are all starting to bloom in Florida and I have my performed my annual rite of Spring - planting grass plugs in the yard. I used to live up north but can't imagine those very cold conditions for too long, any more. Am off to Africa in a few weeks and they, like Australia are heading into fall and winter.

Very cool Crex, and love your's Catherine... in fact all the entries are lovely.
I don't paint many flowers (this is my defense and I'm sticking to it!), but thought I would try my hand at a few different brushes... it's all fun.
