Talking Painter and photoshop...

First i upped the colors and then added paper texture so it looked like oils on canvas saved that, and then opened photoshop opened the original then clicked for the oil copy to layer the original and then changed the opacity and then added it as overlay until i got it how i liked.

Started out thinking - AHA! Pointillize!

But then I got into "What if..." mode and ended up with six pointillize layers at different radii. Overlayed them together and topped with some outlines.

Question Neve...

Does X-Stitch Software give details on the colors used?

I would love to get into adding X-cross patterns to the pictures i sell online.

Hi Legacy....good idea! I have a cheap version of this program which is adequate for my needs.

http://www.husqvarnastudio.co.uk/sof...crossstitcher/

I had the same idea years ago i.e. to use my own designs but it seemed like hard work to moi, if only I were 20 years younger, got the ideas but not the energy anymore

Here are more X-Stitch programs....

http://www.pcstitch.com/Features/Features.aspx

http://www.stitchcraft.com.au/

http://www.hobbyware.com/

I also have a links page at my site with a list of free X-Stitch patterns available on the net, you may enjoy a look at those sites too.....

went for Monet...

First I want to apologize, I'm exhausted this morning, so I can't give the same amount of detail as usual.

First ran Unsharp Mask.
Used Danny's Chalk: Soft Detail Pastel Rain, faded to 25%
then JCH's Van Gogh.
Then Danny's Paint: Dry Brush Scrappy., faded a bit.
Custom filter.
Add texture using a layer mask.

Lovely garden, LegacyArt! Some very nice renditions -- glikster's Monet is my current fav, I think.

I added a Diffuse Glow to top layer, then painted on a layer mask to reduce the effect in some places - then ran pointillize on the mask. Liked the effect, and then made a mask from the red channel to make some change to the green leafy areas -- wasn't too happy with several tries, but then tried Pointillize on that selection and liked it. Thanks, ByRo, for the inspiration.

Copied final and set layer blend to Overlay to enhance colors.

wow!

some people would think that I create photo-art just to fuel my ego when it turns out well.... They wouldn't be so far from the truth...
No seriously, it means an enormous amount to me that the incredibly talented and creatively honest members of this board enjoyed my rendition.
You all inspire me to create art.
Thank you!

Thanks as always Palms. The second one is a yarn look. At least that was my intent.

Yes. the program is still in beta, but this group will be the first to know when it goes public. (My own little Area 51... )

Me too, but it's not a matter of energy as it is eyesight. Just can't see the fine canvas anymore.

I designed X-Stitch for years and also Blackwork, which I learned to love even more than standard x-stitch.

Here's a sample of a blackwork piece I designed along with a closeup. Blackwork uses many of the techniques of embroidery to create patterns that form the shapes of the design. Usually done in one color of thread.

Feeling much better and shoulder is out of the sling so I can now reach my keyboard!!

Had to have a play at this lovely photo!

HSL adjustment, added a fresco filter and texture then painted back with the history brush at about 35% opacity.

Some nice ones here - Palms, I especially like your second version.

I'm feeling my way in Artweaver lately - this is my latest exercise. Finished off in PS.

Thanks, Palms..

Yeah, my dog got away from me (she wanted to chase ducks) pulled me down and broke my shoulder. I was in a sling that held my arm at a right angle to the keyboard and I couldn't do much of anything on my computer. Sling is gone now, although arm is still sore and I have physical therapy to look forward to starting next week.
