Dave & Mark, very creative renditions.

Dave, I'm glad it didn't e_________ you to paint a rose, and yes, my current quote is from a great man, but the previous one was by Lily Tomlin. I'm an equal opportunity borrower.

Hi Legacy Art,

Here's my (Male) attempt for you. Hope you like it.

I cut the rose out of the gackground and converted it into a Brush.

I then created two Layers below this and Painted in the rose "Brush strokes".
The bottom at 100% the other at 30% to create some depth. To make it more interesting I applied some Filter>Distort Twirl to the bottom Layer and some Outer Glow Layer Style To the actual Rose.

Regards

Con Looymans

You'll please the ladies with this one Con. Clever use of the rose on the bg which looks delicate. Beautifully done and ready for your Valentine!

The roses above are lovely. raniday -- I love the softness.
Mine is a "Not-a-rose" made from the rose.

I had withdrawn my earlier image, didnt like it at all.
We've made plans for a special valentine day celebration on the 14th, its also my mum's birthday, so it will be a family thing with mum and dad joining us as well. I made this greeting card, and you guessed right, i shall present it to my sweet husband!
The Lace heart is from a downloaded selection from a tutorial in psp. I just had to fill in the color etc.The rose of course is hand painted by yours truly.
Hope you all like it.
