I have a dear friend who owns a business in Ft. Lauderdale specializing in Glicee printing. Mike was about 15 years old when I met him at an Atari Fest (this goes way back to the mid 80's). He was a genius with computers and PhotoShop back then. Geez, the kid was building network systems for a large print shop, burning CD's and selling color work way back then.

His business caters to artists, decorators, cruise lines and high end hotel/restraunt trades. Artist bring him their original canvases to be digitized and printed on the wide format Epsons. Mike has a natural talent in color reproduction and tweaking stuff in PhotoShop to produce spectacular canvases. They even print on tile, plastic and glass. I've seen some tile work that he did for custom table tops to go in a new restaurant - beautiful!!

If you are in south Florida and need such services try... PrintVillage on State Road 84 West in Ft. Lauderdale.

Florida - bit too far to go i'm afraid...

Neve - thanks for that link the prices from there are a lot cheaper than here - almost the same as I would pay for canvas textured paper here.

I wanted to do something

On the lines of Leopard never changes its spots but my imagination dropped off the wagon!

Here i played about with the curves and added dry brush effect and plastic coating on an opacity and the rest is a history i cannot remember.

Used adjustment layers for levels and curves.
Did some work with the masks for the adjustment layers to manipulate the leopards and the blue background seperately.
Multiplied the foreground wood over itself to bring out a bit of it's texture.

Re: Creative Interpretations: Two by Two Leopards

Love these two! Thanks again to Neve for finding the original, thanks to Peter for bringing it back up to the top.

Peter -- nice renditions! The first almost makes them look like snow leopards.
Steve -- I agree -- they would make nice valentines. Nice work. I like the first best just because I love their expressions and it retains them most.

Swampy planted some greenery in front of them long ago, and I think that helped place them back in Nature. I gave them some grasses to hide in, and the shady canopy to let the sun filter thru and dapple his coat a bit.
