ByRo - I've seen a lot of people try and try to achieve this cross-stitch embroidered result without the same success!

Painter 8.1

Started off with DWC/Coarse Dry all over horse.
Then DWC/Diffuse Water
Not happy with that I then...
Cloner/Wet Oils 10 Cloner
Then used 2/3 blenders till I got close to something
more reasonable looking. (i.e. There were very evident large
strokes on the mane, still there but less so now)

Took a while but it's good practice!

Re: Creative Interpretations: Two by Two Horses

You folks have done wonderful work here. This is a great photo to begin with.

Masked out the horses and ran my "Photo Art 101" routine (see my video tutorials) and added some texture to them.

Then labored over a unique and interesting background. Used an oil brush above the tan canvas layer. Just went wild messing with settings for this brush, lots of jiggle, jitter and rock 'n roll. Set a bevel and emboss layer style for this.

Added a new layer for a drop shadow of the horses. Textured the tan canvas layer. Whew! I'm tired and still have dinner to fix.. LOL

Lot's of horse farms near where I live. I should be taking some shots like this very nice one.

Here's one interpretation with some of the horses removed.

Yes, Steve you need to get out there on 27 west of town and take some shots of those beautiful horse frams with barns and big oak trees and hanging moss and.... you know what I'm talking about. Get cracking! LOL

Yeah, you're right. Seems we always admire them from 75 on our way south.
