Creative interpretations: Car, Chevrolet Grille

I was having a discussion with another forum member recently re vintage cars just out of interest and also as my son has recently purchased an Australian Vintage Car. I'm keen to take a batch of photos in July when I visit him of his car and hopefully do some photo art for him. In another forum I used this photo to experiment with and post my result. I thought you all may appreciate a go at this one too....! I'll post my result from the other forum next.

The photo is by "dtack" from Stock Exchange. There's no usage restriction for this photo.

Painter 8.1

Gouache/Fine bristle 10/on body of car.
Blenders/Blur – over same area.
Filled grille area of car entirely with grey.
Cloners/Wet Oils Cloner/front grill area of car.
I also selected the turquoise colour and put extra dabs
of this colour over the grille and headlight.

Sharpen with USM to reveal brushstroke details further.

With more time I'd have revealed more detail in the word "Chevrolet" as it
is indistinct.

Hi Neve,

Here's my view of your grille,

I used a Flexify Polar co-ordinates effect for the spheres And an Almathera Twirl for the background. the rest was just copy and flip to create enough material for the background.

Hope you like it.

WOW Con, I'm bowled over. It is absolutely terrific. I can see the theme expanded on and several swirls of color added just for sheer funkiness too. My imagination soars with this one.

All Chrome

Used Photoshop's Smart Blur to get rid of some of the artifacts and then followed by a chrome action I wrote a couple years ago based on an idea from Linda Vich. (Click HERE to download it.)

Restored the original headlight using a copy of the original layer and a Layer Mask.

Beep-beep!

Onya Con....! That has WOW alright. Well done.

Chrome action? That's likely the one Sidis referred to in another thread....what a useful action it must be to get a rare result like that Danny.

I used various adjustment layers. Then added craq and aniso filters with masks.
