Really, -really- quick 'n' dirty

All this basically is is Gimp's "old photo" script-fu. But since I don't particularly like the way that sepiatones, I did that first in Photoshop with a gradient map.

Hephaestos, I don't know what year that car is, but it seems to me to be an "older model" -- your image could be from an original ad for this fine vehicle!
Nice work!

Started by removing the background. Then took another shot at a kind of watercolory effect based on this action by ErickN:

Another rare result. Thanks for the explanation on the other too. Much appreciated. You're on a roll, keep up the good work!

Hi Legacy Art,

Here's my attempt.

I duplicated and blurred the Layer with a Mask to retain the sharpness on the car. Created a Hue/Saturation Layer to Desaturate and lighten the image. Copied the mask from the previous Layer to again block the effect on the car. Created another Color Balance Layer to give a bit af a warm tone on the background again using the mask to protect the car.

Regards

Con Looymans

The results so far are great. I can't say I like one more than the other because the work is superb on all of them. There is one thing though...no one has mentioned what kind of car it is; and I'm so curious.

Whatever make it is I thoroughly enjoyed Painting it this morning. Thanks for a great photo LA.

Painter 8.1
I used Cloners/Wet Oil Cloner 10 all over the vehicle at around 47%
varying only the size of the brush.
Went over all the car again, same brush, lowered opacity 20%
Used the soft Cloner at very low opacity to allow some background
to show through.

I've given this a couple of USM zaps because the brushstrokes would not show through here otherwise especially when having to compress the images.
I doubt this USM would be necessary for printing, haven't yet tried to print too many Painter results yet to know for certain. With a low quality image to work on, the smaller 'details' also aren't evident of course.

My husband (yes, a car-freak )says its a modern day sports car called Morgan Roadster. Usually built to order because of its retro styling. The last one was made recently by the Malvern based factory in May 2004.

Pzazzz.

This is just an experiment with radial blur and gradient maps for the background. The car itself was turned to maroon in photoshop and cloned in Painter before being exported back to Photoshop for inclusion into the wild and crazy background.

Nothing serious, just good old fashioned 60s colors here.
