Red face Huh? Nobody seems interested!

Sorry Danny, I goofed and started this thread in the wrong place reserved only for moderators. Just noticed! Anyway hope u like my creation.
Buzzpro, simplifier1, manipulated a bit with colors, texture added. PS watercolor filter (my favorite!)

Beautiful pictures, Jaykita & Danny!
Something very simple here, just Buzz Pro underneath a line drawing set to overlay, some color enhancement and a mask/frame.

Wonderful effort there Catherine! I like your framing too.

Applied Cutout first in PS.

In PaintshopPro 8.1 place cutout layer over the original. I ventured into the Show All Mask on L2 using a Fuzzy Brush on the leaves, and a Van Gogh brush on the background. Smudged the apples and tree limb. Merged layers.

Impressionist/Fluffbutts/Stevies Gouache - duped this layer
Multiply on L2 at 60%.

Added a canvas texture.

My case is 3/4 packed now and squeezing in some play time

Thanks, Danny, Neve & Jaykita.
Gorgeous work, Neve. I love how you've softened your background and made the apples prominent.
I'm always a day late and a dollar short, but where are you going?

Apples

Here is mine:

Simple Level and Curves adjustments.
Ran an ice filter over a layer and Differenced it over an original.
Slight bit of rain/snow effect.

Just trying something different.

I thought this came out pretty cool ...and it was easy too...

1) Make a duplicate layer.
2) Adjust threshold on the background layer.
3) On top layer apply gaussian blur (around 9)
4) Set blending to darken and opacity at 82%
5) Flatten image
6) Filter>stylize>diffuse

the second one added a frame

cardmnal: very cool effect!

Tyler: Do you recall the source of the "ice filter"? That's a very interesting result.

Ok, here's mine.

PSP7.
Photo 1:
Grey layer over original, erased apples and some leaves, save version 1.
Version 1: used effect/texture/sandstone, (reliëf: blurring 7, detail 34, brightness 20, lightening corner 11), saved version 2.
Version 2: selected all.
Version 1: pasted version 2 as layer over version 1 and merged them 57%.
Resized 90% and added some colored frames.

Photo 2:
Used effect/artistic effects/colored contrast (blur 8, detail 11, color HTML code #BA6262, corner 44).
Copy all and push backbutton to original and paste as layer.
Merge layers 70% and choose 'difference' (arrow right).
Saved all, resize 80% and added some colored frames.

Here's mine. I used Photoshop Elements for this one. I did an Auto Levels adjustment and then a Hue/Saturation adjustmant layer. I played with different settings until I chose the one that I liked the best. (I like Granny Smith apples ) I played with the Impressionist brush, and then applied a glass filter. Then I used the Smudge tool to blend some more. I think I may have rearranged some layers at some point, too. Loved everyone's work as usual.

Looks like the apples from our tree; these are wonderful renditions. Here's my try
Used ErickN's watercolor action. Turned up the saturation a bit and used a watercolor texture instead of the action texture.
Used a medium size oil brush from WOW collection.

Nice renditions all.

I just eroded the edges and then used Impressionist Paint Small Daubs, with a small brush and canvas texture.
